Marie Kondo (ESE): Personality Type Analysis

"Life truly begins only after you have put your house in order." Marie Kondo is a Japanese organising consultant and author, known primarily for the KonMari method of tidying and has become a viral sensation with her 2019 Netflix show, "Tidying Up With Marie Kondo." Marie Kondo has a long-standing obsessive interest in the organisation of her environment. From childhood she would leaf through home magazines and experiment with different organisational methods in her own home, and even preferred tidying and organising at school to playing with other children. As a result, she has broad knowledge of organisational systems and techniques and confidently recommends practical solutions for a wide range of situations. However, she considers emotional engagement (E) and aesthetic sensibilities (S+E) to be more relevant than practical considerations (P), as I will explain below: "It is my hope that the magic of tidying will help you create a bright and joyfu...

Ovid (ESE): Personality Type Analysis

Publius Ovidius Naso , known in the English-speaking world as Ovid , was a Roman poet known for his legacy of bringing a diverse array Latin poems into that of Western canon. He lived during the reign of Augustus ( LIE ) , as a contemporaries of the legendary Virgil ( ILI ) and lofty Horace ( ESI ). At an early age, Ovid was tutored under Arellius Fuscus and Marcus Porcius Latro in Rome to study rhetoric and law along with his older brother. However, when his brother died at the age of 20, Ovid abandoned his studies altogether and devoted the rest of his life to poetry. His first success was penned around 16 BCE, known as Amores , a collection of erotic poems that were praised for their descriptiveness and consistently light-hearted themes. Ovid followed this work with more romantic poetry, eventually producing Metamorphoses , - 12,000 lines written in dactylic hexameter chronicling all of human history up until the death of Julius Caesar ( SEE ) . The majority of what is known o...

Stan Lee (ESE): Personality Type Analysis

Stan Lee  (born Stanley Martin Lieber) is known as the face of Marvel Comics, where he not only created many beloved comic book heroes but also became something of a personality and household name. Lee's most obvious trait is his enormous enthusiasm for life and for his work, which is an indication of E1 and specifically ESE s. Although known for creating many of Marvel's most notable superheroes, he more naturally takes a marketing role in the process, meaning making the product appealing to the readers, and putting a distinctive "face" on it, which is a function of E as well as F . There are several examples of this. For one, he would write a column filled with his personal thoughts in the comic books, not necessarily about the comics but whatever was going through his head. This kind of unlimited "dishing" of what is going on in one's mind and in one's life is another trait of E leading types. It is also clear that Lee's personal appeal...

Walt Disney (ESE): Personality Type Analysis

Walter Elias Disney was a cartoonist, animator, film producer, and entrepreneur. He was a pioneer in sound animated films, feature-length animated films (he was the creator of the very first, 'Snow White'), and wildlife documentaries. He was the first to think of the now common concept of a 'theme park' and the first movie studio boss to understand that television could be used to promote feature films rather than just compete with them. He can be considered the inventor of the modern multimedia corporation. His impact on US and world pop culture was immense, with his characters Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck being recognized virtually in the entire planet. Walt Disney came from a family of modest background and he was largely self-taught in drawing, starting with cartoons for local newspapers and then discovering the field of animated short films. Certain traits were already visible in Disney's career from the start and they remained consistent to ...
