WSS Shorthand Notation for Model A

It can be time-consuming when writing Socionics articles and saying "Leading Extroverted Ethics" every single time. For this reason, I have put together a shorthand system, as used by members of World Socionics Society. The abbreviated terms for the IM Elements are thought to have been coined by Viktor Gulenko (although some think they came from Aušra Augustinavičiūtė). Socionics Relations #4: The 'Wonky' Ones

In Socionics, each type is thought to have a certain, set relation to each other type, resulting in 16 separate relations and 136 possible pairings to be had between people of specific types. In the previous three articles on Socionics & Relations, we covered relations that were 'symmetric' in nature. This means that the relation was shared in the same way between both parties, each having the same attitude towards the other. In this fourth instalment, we look instead at the asymmetric, 'wonky' relations. These are where there is an element of imbalance, or something is unrequited. Frequently, participants in 'wonky' relations will relate to each other in different ways. Consequently, any difficulty in these relationships is one-sided, rather than felt mutually. Unlike with symmetric relations, the interaction that one type has with another in 'wonky' relations is not returned in kind. Instead, the interaction is passed on to another, third type....

In Socionics, each type is thought to have a certain, set relation to each other type, resulting in 16 separate relations and 136 possible pairings to be had between people of specific types. Previously, I focused on the symmetric relationships that take place between people of the same quadras, and then those between people of adjacent quadras. In this article, I will focus on the four relationships that tend to be quite 'rocky', with people often greatly misunderstanding each other and failing to reconcile their contrary world views, which can often lead to mutual bemusement and argument. Socionics Relations #1: The 'Nice' Ones

In Socionics, each type is thought to have a certain, set relation to each other type, resulting in 16 separate relations and 136 possible pairings to be had between people of specific types. In this article, I will focus on the four 'nicest' relationships. These are the ones that occur within the same Quadra and so share the same fundamental values for what is important in life. This means that there are no clashes in terms of:  Uniting together under shared structures vs. staying independent with individuals we trust.  Accepting and exploring reality vs. rejecting and fighting to change reality. Socionics and Careers

DISCLAIMER: This article deals with a hypothetical application of Socionics to careers. It is not scientific and does not prescribe facts to be relied on in real life, but rather considers how one might approach career choices from within the postulates of the Socionics theory.  A suitable career for a Socionics type can best be approached in term of (1) their natural capabilities for different sorts of tasks, and (2) their affinity with certain values for managing a business. The capabilities of a type to perform different tasks is thought to be largely decided by the Strong/Weak and Bold/Cautious dichotomies: The Strong + Bold functions, i.e. the Leading (1 st ) and Demonstrative (8 th ) functions, are seen as the most competent and confident parts of the psyche, being utilised powerfully by the type. A Very Abridged Introduction to Socionics

Where Socionics differs most significantly from the MBTI is its focus on Quadras, four groupings of four personality types, united by having similar values and ways of looking at the world. The most beneficial relationships are thought to occur between people of the same Quadra. Each Quadra is composed of two opposite halves, known as Clubs, which naturally complement each other. These Clubs, which are the same in terms of their strengths and weaknesses, are known as either Researchers and Socialites or Pragmatists and Humanitarians. Quadra Values: Clarity/Integrity-Seeking & World-Accepting/Rejecting

Alphas are Clarity-Seeking and World-Accepting. Betas are Clarity-Seeking and World-Rejecting. Gammas are Integrity-Seeking and World-Rejecting. Deltas are Integrity-Seeking and World-Accepting. What does it mean to be Clarity-Seeking? Clarity-Seekers value Emotions (E) and Laws (L). The valuing of E makes these types appreciative of the mood or emotional atmosphere of the people surrounding them. Emphasis is placed on the sharing and showing of emotion and how those emotions affect the mood of others, with priorities given to emotions that raise and uplift how people are feeling or unite them and bring them together. It is important for emotions to be expressed clearly and openly, even exaggeratedly so that people easily 'get the message'. These types tend to associate subjective value based on how groups of people react to what is being expressed.
